What is in your pantry? Brutal hot sauce stands out on my hot sauce shelf. Brutal hot sauce is another gem from that hot sauce genius ‘Larry from Peppahead’. ‘Painfully Delicious’ claims the label of this limited vintage brew. Larry grows a lot of his own peppers and creates some wonderful sauces. These are bottled in limited numbers and sold at farmers markets or mail order. Let’s take this sauce off the shelf and give it a try.
Ingredients:
Dorset Naga, Naga Morich, Bhut Jolokia, Red habanero chiles, onion, shallot, lime juice, vinegars, salt, and xanthan gum. This is an all star line up of celebrity hot peppers. My mouth is burning just reading this ingredient list.
Aroma and Texture:
Red Orange thin puree of chile peppers with out any seeds present makes for an appealing looking sauce. A pepper aroma with a faint whiff of vinegar is the smell.
Label:
Larry comes up with some attention grabbing names for his sauces. “Brutal Painfully Delicious” is another gem. I like the warning on the side to keep away from children.
Taste
Habanero, Habanero, beautiful Habanero and Naga’s will light up your tongue and travel to the back of your throat will an addicting hot flavor. The pepper flavors really shine in this sauce. The rest of the ingredients cradle and compliment the pepper love. Once the flame subsides I actually got a taste of shallots.
Heat:
This is about as hot as it will get with out adding extracts. I will give this 4 stars out of 5 in the heat department.
Food:
I could eat this sauce on ice cream. What I am trying to say that this sauce will go great on almost anything. We had some Brutal hot sauce with our New Year’s prime rib and some Christmas tamales. They were so good.
Overall:
Larry from Peppahead is a master mixer of hot peppers. This sauce will not disappoint. Brutal hot sauce unfortunately is brewed in limited numbers. You will have to contact him to see if there is any Brutal sauce left. It is a good idea to watch his website to see what he will create next. You will not be sorry.

Oh, my, what an interesting new format! And I love your photo, with all else beside the sauce grayed out. I may have to take lessons from you!
I’ll give the sauce a pass, however. Looks far too dangerous for a wuss like me.

Hi, Zoomie, You just left a comment on the greatest hot sauce website called “Peppers & More” not “Mad Meat Genius”.
Next time you are at the Marin market talk to Larry. He has all types and varous degrees of heat hot sauces.

I like that selective coloring photo, it makes it pop, just like the heat in the sauce.
