Ingredients…Brown sugar, chili pepper and other spices, paprika dehydrated onion and garlic, canola oil and not more than 4% calcium stearate added to prevent caking.
Label……..I rarely have any comments on the way that a label is presented but I do have a few for this one. I really like the way that this label is layed out, the font and photo, the humorous text and the actual texture of the label was very impressive. The colors blend very well…. Well done John !!!
Taste…….. Wow, where do I start. Having great weather here in NJ, I had a ton of grilling opportunities. So first one was on a sweeeeet rib eye steak (see photos). I thouroughly rubbed the steak about 1 hour before grill time and put it in the fridge……………………………. one hour later I threw that bad boy on and listened to it sear. The rubs most prominent ingredient , brown sugar started to carmelize. I knew this was going to be YUMMY! and I was right ! Tasting it prior on my finger doesnt compare to the taste on some real food. The brown sugar really is sweet and very much apparant then the other ingredients kick in like the onion and garlic and paprika. I didnt hear my steak complaining and neither was I that this rub was anything but awesome ! Second test, I put it on some salmon we were grilling . I like wrapping the fish in foil it always cooks perfect. Anyway again I rubbed it about a hour before grilling it. It came out really good, it didnt carmelize like it did on the steak, it more like penetrated it, the brown sugar was still definitley the prodominant ingredient. It added a nicely tasting compliment to the already delicious salmon. I can see this on some shrimp skewers.

Overall I think that this rub would pretty much taste great on ANY meat. My next use for it is some chicken wings…. Dougs favorite! So I really would recommend you add this to your shopping list this week. They at Rufus Teague’s have some really tasty stuff. Doug recieved a nice package from those there folk in Kansas City and they all look good. Sooooo check out their site www.rufusteague.com and get while the gettins good !!!
