I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined another podcast. This is one that I’ve been a fan of for a couple of years…it’s the weekly BBQ Central Radio Show, hosted by none other than Greg Rempe. I made my debut on Tuesday’s live show, and I will be returning monthly for a segment where I will be reviewing barbecue sauces, rubs and seasonings and sometimes hot sauces. As of now, I’ll be tentatively scheduled on the first or second Tuesday of the month, depending on what date it falls on (there will be more clarification on the dates as they approach).
Tuesday’s show I covered Chef Hymie Grande’s Cascabel Express Barbecue Glaze, Outta the Park BBQ Sauce and Christopher Creek Pork Rub.
To listen to the February 9, 2010 edition of the BBQ Central Show, you can click here to download the MP3.
Even if you’re not huge into backyard grilling or barbecueing, The BBQ Central Show is still a very enjoyable and fun listen. You can Subscribe via iTunes or you can Subscribe to the RSS Feed with MP3 for listening on your computer or non-iPod MP3 player.
Don’t forget that you can still listen to me give a weekly hot sauce review on Brian Meagher’s (of HotSauceDaily.com) excellent Hot Sauce Weekly Podcast.
Last but not least here is the interview link when I appeared on the Celebrity Grill Podcast: http://celebritygrill.wordpress.com/2010/01/28/cgp-10-interview-wscott-roberts-scottrobertsweb-com. Be sure to listen for the mentions of Peppers And More!

CALLING ALL MANUFACTURERS………….
I’ve been in recent contact with Chip Hearn at Peppers. I told him I’ve been receiving a number of emails from bloggers and other hot sauce enthusiasts regarding having a Hot Sauce Extravaganza at their store Peppers, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He was definitely up for doing it and has already gotten permission to put up tents and all sorts of crazy stuff to make it quite a memorable experience. The Peppers store itself is something to behold. If you’ve never been there, this would be a perfect opportunity for a very cool road trip.
I’m looking to see how many people would be interested in something like this. I think it would be a ton of fun, and a great chance for people to meet up with a number of manufacturers, hang out for an afternoon, and just plain have a good time. There would be plenty of sampling going on, and heck, I might even bring down my turkey fryers and throw a Deathmatch together.
This would also be a great opportunity for newer companies to get their name out, as I think the turnout would be pretty good. As many of you know, who have been to hot sauce shows big and small, it’s all about having fun, meeting people, and just having an all-around good time.
We are tentatively looking at some time in May, when the weather is usually pretty good. If you are at all interested in something like this, please email me at john@defconsauces.com. Chip will also be inviting some local vendors from his area as well.
