Buzz’s Butt Dust

Ingredients….Salt,Sugar.Paprika,Spices,Evaporated Cane Juice,Garlic Powder,Corn Starch, Onion Powder, Maltodextrin,Citric Acid,Dehydrated Onion,Tumeric,Lemon Oil,Dehydrated Garlic, Natural Flavors,Soybean Oil,Extractives of Paprika and Natural Smoke Flavor….

When I first read the ingredient list on this rub I was very surprised to see it was Salt. I don’t enjoy a rub that has a lot of salt in it for the mere fact it takes away from the taste of the meat. After trying the rub I found it not as salty as the label would led you to believe. Great fresh Paprika mixed with the salt and the sugar to get the mouth watering. GREAT SMOKEY FLAVOR……..

SUCKLEBUSTERS ‘HOOCHIE MAMA BBQ RUB & BBQ SAUCE

We are having a barbeque on this crisp and cold November day. We have invited SuckleBusters to the party. SuckleBusters is a hot sauce, spice and condiment company located in Texas. They have won the Chilepepper magazines fiery food award for their barbeque sauce. That is one smokin endorsement. Today they will have to pass muster with two certified barbeque judges, Ms. Goofy and myself, Chilebrown. We will rub down some chicken with SuckleBusters “Hoochie Mama BBQ Rub”. The chicken will be bathed in a fiery bath of smoke and heat from a mesquite fire. Sucklebusters claims that their products are ‘Bustin’ with flavor. They are made ‘Texas Style’. Texas Style means big and bold yet simple. We shall see. Let’s get cooking!.

Rufus Teague Meat Rub… A look back

Ingredients…Brown sugar, chili pepper and other spices, paprika dehydrated onion and garlic, canola oil and not more than 4% calcium stearate added to prevent caking.

Label……..I rarely have any comments on the way that a label is presented but I do have a few for this one. I really like the way that this label is layed out, the font and photo, the humorous text and the actual texture of the label was very impressive. The colors blend very well…. Well done John !!!

BUTCHER BBQ HONEY RUB

My wife and I have been ‘Kansas City Barbeque Society’ certified barbeque judges for the last three years. A couple weekends a month we travel to barbeque competitions, all around the West Coast to sample, judge and score competition barbeque. We have judged at the American Royal competition held in Kansas City Missouri. This competition brings over 500 teams from all over the country. I can honestly say I have tried many different flavors and brands of dry rub for barbeque. There is one company that has a solid reputation for its meat injections and dry rubs. This company is ‘Butcher BBQ”. These products used with proper techniques can make a barbeque competitor ‘Take the Walk’ (Win). Today we are privileged to try their Honey Rub. ‘Butcher BBQ Honey Rub’ is MSG free. This product claims to be able to infuse honey flavor without burning on the grill. This spice mix will be used on a smoked pork shoulder. As ‘Butcher BBQ’ states; “Trust Your Butcher”.

Review – Peppahead Brand Big Red Chile Rub and BBQ Sauce

Peppahead Brand Big Red Rub and BBQ SauceContrary to the name, Peppahead’s Big Red Southwestern Roasted Chile Rub and Big Red Succulent & Smokey BBQ Sauce are not red per se. Nonetheless, these fairly new offerings from chile pepper grower, photographer and sauce & seasoning meister Larry Noggle were devised to give meats and chili a Southwestern accent and I couldn’t wait to crack them open…
