Sit back and enjoy this journey to the Greek Isles. ‘Pretty Dog Hot Sauces’ has created a habanero hot sauce that has captured the flavors of Greece. Lemons, Greek oregano, olive oil combined with habanero peppers are the vehicle of our journey. This is one of the latest of many flavored hot sauces Pretty Dog Hot Sauces has created. Peter Fikaris of Berkeley,California is the mastermind and owner of this new and upcoming hot sauce company. ‘Greek Style’ hot sauce will be sampled with some chicken and then some pizza. Click this link and a little music will put us in the mood.

Long before ZestFest 2012, there was a bit of conversation about a new wing sauce containing the distinctive flair of honey. This product called Honeyblaze Wing Sauce had received accolades on The Hot Pepper forums, and had been reviewed on I Love It Spicy.

Now, you know that if you mention anything about wings, I'll make a mental note about it; and if you start giving phrases to a wing sauce, my attention will grow from being a stat in the backburner of my mind to a heavy salivation and a rumbling in my stomach to try it as soon as possible. Al "Buddah" Goldenberg had then declared Honeyblaze his wing sauce of the year, so it had become even more of desire to grab some of this.

I had met Honeyblaze's owner Miller Townsend at ZestFest. Miller provided a couple of small sample bottles that I could take with me on the plane ride back home to St. Louis. I cracked open said bottles, and was immediately met with a heavy and potent honey aroma. Honestly, although I can admire the usage of honey in a product - I love a bulk of the fiery sauces and spreads that Sam and Tina McCanless of Zane & Zack's World Famous Honey Co. have whipped up - a quick taste lick from the Honeyblaze samplers revealed a tremendous amount of honey. Perhaps too much, so I had developed doubts, as premature as those opinions may have been.

Now I've since ordered a pair of normal 16 oz. bottles of both Honeyblaze Original Wing Sauce and Honeyblaze Medium Wing Sauce for review. I should be fair and see how they fare on some actual wings, so read on to find out what I thought.

You think you've tackled ultra-hot products before? Very few things have likely remotely close to Texas Creek Products Pure Evil SHU Capsaicin Drops. This stuff comes in a 1/2 ounce dropper bottle and contains pure 15-16 million SHU crystalline capsaicin, along with water, alcohol, ascorbic acid (aka Vitamin C) and xanthan. Although it should ONLY be used as a food additive (and even so it would be extreme), I tried about 6 drops straight on my tongue.

You would not believe the amount of heat from this. You know, I love a good chile pain and a burn, but this product crosses the line into "bad pain" territory. It stopped being pleasant. It's unreal. It's an absolutely unrelenting burn that, unlike super-hot peppers or extracts, doesn't go away until well after 30 minutes. At around 60-90 minutes after taking some of this, a lot of the discomfort went away yet I still felt the heat on my tongue where the drops fell and my lips were numb.

I would advise all of you, even seasoned chileheads, NOT to try this product like this. It's convinced me to never do another heat challenge or contest again. Where else would you go from here? there's nothing more to prove. I'm going to stick to nice, clean burns that come naturally from chile peppers. NO more extracts or capsaicin.

By the way, pure capsaicin does NOT thankfully have the nasty flavor of chile pepper extract. It's a good, clean taste. As I point out in the video, the only disagreeable taste is that of the alcohol used in the Pure Evil Drops. I don't think this would effect the overall flavor of whatever food to which you're adding this, such as a bowl of chile or a saucepan of taco seasoned beef.

The dropper bottle comes on a collector's tin and costs $19.99 plus shipping on the Texas Creek Products website.

According to its website, this sauce was originally concocted for a family-owned restaurant in Peoria, Illinois Mexican restaurant called Pepe Taco, which was known for having "Mexican Food for American Tastes." Rob Schunk, owner of Pepe Taco, retired from the restaurant business but still makes the Señor Roberto's Hot Sauce. Even though the website claims that this condiment is great for "pizza, wings and much more", I'm still eager to put it through its paces on Mexican cuisine...

Cajun peppers and Jamaican rum in ‘Johny Five’ sauce promises to get our taste buds tingling today. Voodoo may contribute to the hypnotic flavors. Johny Five has a unique mix of different peppers that includes the Banana pepper. This sauce is made by 'Threatcon Kitchens Inc.' located in Orlando Florida. We will sample this sauce on its own and then with some steak and a stuffed chicken medallion. Let’s see if the Voodoo can bring some magic.

Steve "The Machine" Smallwood is no stranger when it comes to breaking records either. "I heard about the Weekend of Fire at Jungle Jim's and they had a Defcon Sauces Death Match Wing Contest. Are you looking for a new bbq sauce with a flavor profile just a little different than all those tomato based products on the market? Ira Pupko from Hog Heaven has at least two sauces that might fit the bill. Today, I will be reviewing the Apple-Chipotle and Apricot-Jalapeño varieties.

Kendell Brenner recently woke up his son Jordan and frantically put a spoon in his face, telling Jordan to taste a spoonful of hot sauce before the eight-year-old could barely open his eyes.

“I was like, ‘Jeez, dad, let me at least wake up first,’” Jordan Brenner said.

The Brenners don’t have some sort of family ritual using hot sauce to clear illness or anything else like that, though. Kendell Brenner just wanted to know if his son thought the hot sauce needed anything added to it, and that’s because he is the sole chef for his son’s budding hot sauce company, Jordan’s Hot-cha WAA-cha Sauces.

Ah....The sweet smell of smoke filled the air throughout downtown Washington, MO April 20th and 21st. Thirty-nine of the best bbq team in the area cooked chicken, ribs, pork and brisket in hopes of attaining outdoor cooking culinary glory...a Grand Championship. This contest even featured a dessert category. Woo-wee! This place was a carnivores dream!

“It Will Light Your Ass Up!” How is that for an opening line? Firefly ‘Garlic Fire’ hot sauce boldly claims this on their hot sauce label. Firefly hot sauce is made by ‘Passage Creek Farm’ in the Shenandoah Valley of Tennessee. This is a small farm that uses all organic practices. They make several different flavors of sauce and today ‘Garlic Fire’ is on the plate. We happen to love garlic and are looking forward to chasing the vampires away. We will try this sauce straight out of the bottle and with some home made corn dogs. Continue reading →

What bosses at Eastern didn’t know was that Wanis had devised its own recipe, created thousands of fake labels and over a 16-month period produced 30,000 counterfeit bottles of Pickapeppa sauce which it carried on selling into major supermarkets.

The scam only came to light when a shopper who bought the sauce from Asda complained that the sauce tasted sweeter than she was used to and she complained to Pickapeppa in Jamaica.

Brent and Harrow Trading Standards began a probe and the fake sauce trail led officers to the Leyton HQ of Wanis.

Three days into the trial at Harrow Crown Court Wanis bosses Sanjay Wadhwani, 45, and Vickas Shah, 34, changed their pleas and admitted breaking trademark laws. Each was given a community work sentence.
